    This is a London based charitable organisation that provides a resource for families and friends affected by someone’s problematic substance use. As well as information and advice it provides publications, training and other resources as well as a directory of groups and agencies that can support families across the UK

  • Alcohol Concern’s Alcohol and Parenting Project www.alcoholconcern.org.uk

    AC has recently launched a Parenting and Alcohol Project for professionals wanting to work more effectively with problem drinking parents. It offers training and advice on the subject as well as a discussion forum on a range of related topics. For more information about the project contact Michael Eden on 0207 928 7377.     Encare stands for the ‘European network for children affected by risky environments’ within the family. The first risky environment the network is addressing is problem drinking. It is a collaboration of 13 countries, each of which will develop its own website geared toward local need. Currently the website offers advice, information and resources for professionals who come into contact or work with children affected by parental problem drinking. It also provides an overview of related areas such as domestic violence and child protection.

    This is a Lincolnshire based service for parents and relatives of people using alcohol or drugs. It offers advice, information and helpline numbers for concerned family and friends
