This site “has been developed by some of the biggest independent providers of drug and alcohol treatment in the UK working together to improve awareness of and access to the right support” (taken from the homepage of website, December 2005). It provides information on a range of treatment issues.

This site is American and reports on a range of substance related issues.  The following description has been taken from its website “Addiction Treatment Forum has reported on substance abuse and addiction therapies, research, news, and events of interest to both healthcare professionals and patients since 1992. Although many treatment options and healthcare topics of concern are regularly discussed, an important focus is on methadone maintenance for opioid-addiction treatment.”

NB. Most organisations have their own websites now so once you have found those in your region, check them out on line. You may also want to give your clients the web addresses if they have access to a computer and/or print out information for them on local agencies.  You can then discuss it with them.
